We've made some big changes to how we work

We’re always going further for the planet

As a proudly British brand, McAdams is committed to reducing our carbon footprint and impact on the world. From funding rainforest preservation projects to introducing recyclable packaging, we’re proudly carbon neutral. And we won’t stop there when it comes to sustainable practices. McAdams works with Sustainable Advantage, who help businesses adopt new and innovative ways to reduce the impact we have on our environment.

Preserving wildlife habitats around the world

We’ve become carbon neutral by working with global initiatives to save some of the world’s most spectacular forest landscapes. The Southern Cardamom Rainforest project in Cambodia protects tropical rainforests from illegal logging and poaching and has saved 3,000,000 tonnes of carbon emissions every year, while the Kariba Project in Zimbabwe protects almost 785,000 hectares of forest that’s home to endangered wildlife.

Our commitment to recycling

As an ethical pet food company, we’re always looking at ways we can reduce our carbon footprint even further. McAdams’ products are packed in boxes that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), then padded with reused shredded cardboard and sealed with paper tape. All our dry food and treat bags, as well as our wet food trays are 100% recyclable. In 2024 we will introduce our first recyclable freeze-dried bag to complete the range.

Growing our independent, sustainable partnerships

Being eco-friendly is one of our top priorities, so we've teamed up with Pets Corner, whose stores will happily recycle your empty McAdams bags for you. Alternatively, you can drop them off at supermarkets that display the recyclable logo number four or check with your local authority about recycling collections.
